Community Leaders Announce Appreciation Dinner Honoring Mayor Eric Adams

New Yorkers will gather this December to celebrate the leadership and public service of Mayor Eric Adams, the 110th Mayor of New York City, at a community appreciation dinner recognizing his longstanding commitment to the people of the city.

Mayor Adams, a lifelong New Yorker, has dedicated more than four decades to public service. He served 22 years in the New York City Police Department, rising to the rank of captain, before transitioning into public office as New York State Senator, Brooklyn Borough President, and ultimately Mayor of the City of New York. Throughout his career, Mayor Adams has been widely acknowledged for his resilience, his ability to overcome challenges, and his unwavering dedication to public safety, equity, and the wellbeing of all New Yorkers.

In a historic gesture honoring his heritage and the collective struggle of the African diaspora, Mayor Adams traveled to Africa prior to taking office. In tribute to that symbolic journey, December 2nd has been officially designated as “Transatlantic Family Reunification Day” in New York City.

In recognition of his accomplishments and contributions, community leaders will host an Appreciation Dinner on:

Tuesday, December 2, 2025
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Dreiser Loop Community Center
177 Dreiser Loop, Co-op City, Bronx, NY 10475

The event will bring together residents, advocates, and supporters to honor the mayor’s leadership and his enduring impact on the city.
